Imperial County

Imperial County is located in the southwestern corner of the state, bordering Mexico and Arizona. It has a population of around 190,000 people and is known for its diverse geography, which includes the Salton Sea, the Colorado River, and the Algodones Dunes.

One of the most well-known landmarks in Imperial County is the Salton Sea, a large, saline lake that was created by accident in the early 20th century when the Colorado River flooded the area. The lake is now a popular spot for birdwatching and recreational activities.

The history of Imperial County is closely tied to the agriculture industry, which has played a major role in the county's economy for many years. Cotton, alfalfa, and vegetables are among the crops that are grown in the area. More recently, the county has also become home to a growing number of renewable energy projects, including solar and wind farms.

In terms of landmarks, the Algodones Dunes are a popular tourist destination, with thousands of visitors each year coming to hike, sandboard, and camp in the area. The dunes are also home to a number of protected species, including the Mojave rattlesnake and the desert tortoise.

Imperial County has a significant amount of retail licenses, but very few cultivation licenses.
